This is the monsoon.

For unbelievers who seem to think only the Kerala and Konkan coasts experience monsoons.

This

is

Hyderabad

yesterday.

(this is the second highest recorded rainfall - 20cms in 30 hours, as against August 2000's 24 cms - in the city.)

But the most priceless statement (link currently unavailable) comes from one Mr. Lakshminarayana Kanna, Transport Minister, who says, "This happens every year. Public cannot expect us to come up with instant solutions."

You do cryptic rather well. Just the edge of comprehension.
Not about this post, of course, but the earlier ones.

Jesus, that's a lot of water. Hussain Sagar must resemble a Great Lake by now?

JAP: Which earlier ones? Cryptic? Me?

veena: er...that quote was meant to highlight an internal contradiction in said pol's statement. What does that have to do with whether Hyd has a monsoon or not?

km: I haven't gone out to check! And there was no electricity for most of yesterday. Also, something frighteningly like a babbling brook is running past our gates.

SB: I know. But the first part of his statement is your only proof for a real monsoon. The other pieces just talk of these one off rains.
